Bill Reitsma, of Prospect Park, the former vice president of clinical services and founding member of NJ Sharing Network, the agency that recovers and places organs and tissue for transplant in New Jersey, was all smiles with his wife Nancy during a recent ceremony in New Providence to honor his 32 year career in organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
Bill began his career as an intensive care nurse;years later he helped establish NJ Sharing Network, where he worked until retiring last December. Joined by dozens of colleagues and friends, NJ Sharing Network dedicated its Hall of Remembrance in Bill’s honor to recognize the profound impact he has had on the transplant community over the past three decades.
Bill will continue to champion the “gift of life” as a consultant to help NJ Sharing Network with the donor process. To learn more about organ and tissue donation, contact NJ Sharing Network at 1-800-742-7365 or visit www.NJSharingNetwork.org to register as an organ and tissue donor.
