ORANGE - East Orange Campus High School’s Precious Osagie-Erese has achieved a myriad of accomplishments on her way to doing big things. On June 13, 2012, she and her parents visited Local Talk Community Foundation’s headquarters to pick up her two well earned and well deserved checks for higher education.
Osagie-Erese won the inaugural High School Public Speaking Scholarship Contest on November 6, 2010 at Bella Italia Restaurant in Orange. She beat out 12 other contenders to be crowned the first winner of the scholarship contest, which coincided with the ten year anniversary banquet of Local Talk Weekly Newspaper. Her efforts led to her being awarded a check for $2,500 towards the college of her choice.
On October 22, 2011, she would retain her title in the second scholarship contest, beating out 14 other worthy competitors. The event took place at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark. This time, the prize was $3,000 for college.
The EOCHS senior is now ready to further her education, and will be attending the prestigious Howard University. She plans to study journalism and communications, and you may very well see her on CNN one day.
Local Talk Community Foundation congratulates Precious Osagie-Erese, and wishes her the very best for the future.
