Congratulations D.L. Hughley! You’re Now #BannedFromEWR!

You know, I thought that people would have gotten the memo by now. First, we had to put Barry Melrose in the penalty box. Then, Conan O’Brien got yanked off the stage. After that, we gave a technical foul to Magic Johnson. Now, D.L. Hughley has the temerity to run his mouth about Newark.

After returning from a trip, he tweeted, “Whew!! Just landed in the U.S. from Qatar! Glad I made it back safely! But I landed in Newark so u was probably safer there!”

Of course, Mayor Booker used his prolific Twitter skills to strike back in the good name of the Brick City. He tweeted, “NO DL! U didn’t just dis Nwk!”

After Hughley replied with “wassup HERO,” Booker countered with “Thats just wrong. Beating up on a city working hard & making progress just for a cheap twitter joke, your better than that.”

Okay, here is the deal. First of all, Darryl Lynn Hughley’s “contributions” to humor are well…limited at best. Here is a bit of his dossier: He was once the voice of the “Gadgetmobile” and was in the movie “Soul Plane” (People say that I am fortunate NOT to have seen that movie.)

Sure, this “comedian” was the original host of “ComicView,” but his jokes were more based on insulting the audience rather than any decent material of his own. Also, he was with a group that had the nerve to call themselves “The Original Kings of Comedy.” Look man, unless your last name is Pryor, Carlin, Rock, or even Chappelle, you ain’t the “King” of anything! (He has me so livid I actually used “ain’t”.)

You think this guy couldn’t get any worse? Think again. He has the honor of having the show “The Hughleys” canceled by not one, but TWO networks! Naturally, ABC got rid of him after a while, but UPN? You mean to tell me you weren’t good enough for UPN?!

Come to think of it, pretty much every show he has been on has gotten canceled. “ComicView” no longer exists, and UPN itself is gone.

Last but not least, if you still don’t believe that DL Hughley is the “kiss” of death, guess what his resume also includes. A radio show on KISS FM…ENOUGH SAID!

Hey D.L., now you can add all of your flights to and from Newark Liberty International Airport to your inexhaustible list of cancelations!!!
